My Secret Diary

28th July

(Another day of rest in honor of the Ancient Egyptian Cat Goddess Bast.)

The trees are full of happy birdsong. Baby birds demanding to be fed. Mother birds anxiously calling after fledglings that have wandered too far from the nest. Father birds working overtime to catch enough food to feed hungry families.

Itís a fabulous time of year. It makes you think about the wonder of nature and the miracle of life. The best part of course is that the many baby birds that fall from the trees make really tasty snacks.

Spent all day pulling fleas out of my fur - I think for every one I catch another six jump onto me. My humans are all scratching too. Skirt has been putting white lotion on everyone. They all look like clowns - but no one is laughing.

Itís a fact: a flea can jump a million times its own height. If cats could do that we could jump to the moon.
