Went for a wander through neighboring gardens
today. The door of number 66 Fir Drive was open so I went in to
have a look around. Everything looked so neat and tidy. My
humans could learn a lot by visiting this house. I tested the
bed. It was wonderfully soft and I nearly fell asleep. In the
kitchen I met the human of the house, an ancient old lady who
moves very slowly.
“Hello little puss,” she said with a beaming
smile. “Are you a poor little stray?”
Stray!! What a cheek! Suggesting that a
healthy, intelligent, handsome, dignified cat like myself would
ever be short of a good home! Before I could admonish her with a
hiss and a scratch, she hobbled over to the refrigerator.
“You could do with a good feed to fatten you
up,” she mumbled.
She took out a salmon and sat it on the
floor. As I tucked in to this unexpected feast she filled a bowl
with fresh cream and insisted that I ate that too.
